Data Manager - Move function need to be customized

Hi All,

I have a requirement where there is a movement of data from one cost center to another due to company's reorganization,

so when I tried the move option in data manager its moving the data by clearing the source but it is replacing the contents in the destination but not adding or there is any kind of addition.

Request you to let us know what is the best approach do we need to modify the process chain or do we need to write the script logic to do this addition in the destination.

Hi Vijay,

You probably used option "Replace & clear..." in the Move Package. It that case it will clear out all records that have same Category, Entity, Time value as in the data you move. If you don't want this to happen use "Merge ..." option, that it will override just records that you moved.

Move will never add values; you'd have to use additional Dimension, like data source, to accomplish that. I.e. change destination member in that additional Dimension and keep ALL for that Dimension in your reports. This will add them up.

Hi Gersh,

First I would like to thank you for clearing my doubt. I got the approach I will go ahead and add a new dimension member to the datasrc like transfer which will then add up to the total.

I used the merge option and it was my mistake that in any cube will not add at the lower level.
