I'm quite new to BO, but I've read a lot of manuals lately...
Last week I installed BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SP3 Edge On a 32B MS 2003 Server that has its CMS and AUDIT DB on a remote Oracle 10g Server. Everything seemed to work fine, after some issues with the tnsnames.ora file, that I've resolved in [this|Unable to install BO Enterprise with Oracle database...; post. But aparently there is still a problem with InfoView. I'm not sure if its a server configuration issue or an issue with the report or connection...
I've migrated universes and reports from an BO 6.5 installation into my CMS. When I then import a report in DeskI, I can edit the report and refresh the data whitout any problem. However, when I try to open and edit the same report in InfoView, I get an Oracle error pop up:
SetPrompts failed - Connection or SQL sentence error: (DA0005): [Exception: DBD, ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified State: N/A] A connection required to refresh this document is unavailable. (DA0004):  The following data providers have not been successfully refreshed: <a_query> with <a_universe_name>. (DMA0007): 
I'm doing this as Administrator, so I guess we can exclude the fact that its a possible security issue.
In the event viewer I've found one error that whas trown during server startup:
Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the BOE120Tomcat service.
but I don't know if that has anything to do with the connection not working...
Do I have to export connections ? Because I've migrated them as well and I can see them in my connections in CMC. Maybe I can overwrite the existing connections in CMC (the migrated ones) with the ones used by the DeskI Client.... just an Idea. How do I do that?
Any ideas ?
