ECM or CM

Can anyone let me know whether ECM module can be used for Compensation procedure without portal.

Hi,

Here in my current project I'm implementing ECM without portal.

The portal iviews purpose is to submit a compansation plain for some employees within a workflow context.

The business process of my client is totally automated, so I just use the standard tcodes to create and activate a compensation process to one or more employees.

Thanks for the reply. So we can use ECM without portal also. It is not mandatory to use CM only when there is no portal available.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

You are correct. But ECM and CM are diferents. ECM has a optional portal interface, and CM has only a SAPGUI front end.

ECM has many other diferences about CM.

The best point that I can see in both application is the set of Badi available.
