hi senthil
this is the probem we are trying to incorporate an external facing portal and have designed a desktop which is common to anonymous user as well as authenticated user. when in the anonymous area the masthead contains the foll functions help and login. if the user clicks on click the login page is brought up where he can either login or do self registration.
we want it to display either in the masthead area or in th detailed navigation are a just like sdn where the login screen is right there but disapperas once a user is logged in.
hope that helps
thanks

Hi,
when you created the anonymous access following https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/sap enterprise portal 6.0 sp2 - security guide for example (pages 28ff), you have redirected from /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default to your anonymous copy of the portallauncher; just link to the original (non-anonymous) and that's it.
Hope it helps

Hi rahul
According to my understanding of Portal, Portal masthead appears only after you login into portal, i am not able to understand like how you can bring the portal masthead on the login page.
Can you briefly explain your requirement more clearly??
Regards
Senthil
