BW-BPS 3.5 now requiring registration of objects ?

We have brought up a new BW 3.5 system / sandbox to build a proof of concept for BW-BPS 3.5. The upgrade of the actual BW would take a couple of months so it is done in parallel. Currently we are waiting for a license key so the sandbox is still on installation number INITIAL.

We are on

SAP_BASIS 640 SP10

SAP_ABA 640 SP10

PI_BASIS 2004_1_640 SP7 (67)

SAP_BW 640 SP10

BI_CONT 353 SP2

Having worked with SEM 3.0A, 3.1B, 3.5 for over 2 years, I was surprised that BW-BPS is requiring us to register many of SEM/BPS based objects such as

R3TR CLAS /1SEM/CL_FACTORY_610ZTEST

R3TR CLAS /1SEM/CL_BUFFER_610ZTEST

R3TR CLAS /1SEM/CL_CHALEV_610ZTEST

R3TR CLAS /1SEM/CL_KYFLEV_610ZTEST

Can someone shed some light on if the issue is that we don't have a system number and license key on the installation, something we forgot to do or if there is a shift in process?

    I hope this can help you. See OSS 781371 and also make /1SEM/CL_FACTORY_ /1SEM/ changeable object.

    May I also ask you something:

    I created a planning area and I have a Relationship Characteristic between two Char type exit. Do you have an example of function module or exit SEMBPS02. That oculd be really great.

      Hi Alessandro,

      we only had to apply note 789445 since our support pack covered notes 779243, 783943, 786542.

      Things are working well since end of last week. The only issues is time pressure since there is nothing we can leverage off of in BW-BPS such as the SEM-BPS sample content and when we tried to import SEM transport collected from another SEM-BPS 3.1 system on BW 3.0, we had some issues and just started building from scratch entirely for the workshop.
