Need experience

Hello,

How do you use Software component in the integration repository ?

For example in a process with R/3 - XI - BW, where do you put your namespace for your development ?

Is it better to put all into R/3, XI, or BW component ? Or is it better to develop on the 3 components with the same namespace ?

If you put all in one, what is the real interest to create different components and don't use it in the repository ?

Thanks for your experience.

Chris

    Hi Christophe,

Theoretically, you should use different software components for different applications. That is the way SAP has gone about it, and what they advise.

So, you should use different SWCs for R/3, and BW. You would not need a component for XI. Data types, Message types, and interfaces for each application shold belong in the respective interface. Mappings ( which are the common link) could be in either, what we have done is put them in the SWC of the sender application.

As for namespaces, what we have done is to create a namespace per process within the SWC. So for example, within the SWC for R/3, you could have a namespace foo.bar.r3.POcreate

    Hope this helps.

    Regards

    Manish
