Import from Microsoft Excel to Projects - datas are not creating in tabe

Hi,

How to create projects from excel file? i have done the field mapping for mass upload and download the Excel workbook as a template that includes all the fields available.

i populated all the fields and tried to execute the program.

i am getting messages in green color that data is saved but DX data is blank

could somebody help me on this?

or please tell the procedure to upload excel file to create a project

Field Data to Be Entered

Name: Project definition: Project number

Other project element: Description of the corresponding project element

Parent: Parent = Project definition: Project number

Parent = Other project element: Description of the corresponding parent element

Project: Project definition: Project number

Other project element: Project number to which the project element belongs

Note

- The input for the project definition has to be identical in all three columns.

- The assignments of roles to a project may not be defined in this worksheet but in the Role worksheet.

- For each entry, all columns have to be specified.

Hi Florain,

Thanks you very much for your input. now i am able to create project( only 1st level element)but still it is not creating structures. not creating project elements in strucutre worksheet. i have followed the document but still it is showing error.

i am getting below errors while uploading project,

1. Entry in 'Structure' workbook missing (test as name/child node)

2. project test1: Processing terminated

Could you please help me to structure project elements?

fyi,

i have created structure as below,

Name Parent Project

CAM_112 CAM_112 CAM_112

Phase 1 Cam Project CAM_112

Task1 Phase 1 CAM_112

Here, three levels i have created like project definition, phase and task. still i am getting error.

please suggest your input

Hi Prabu,

for the entry for 'Phase 1' in the structure workbook, you have to maintain also 'CAM_112' in the 'Parent' column. For the project definition you always have to use the project number instead of the description, independent of where it is used in the structure workbook.

If you then also have an entry of each structure element on its corresponding object type specific workbook (e.g. 'Phase' or 'Task), then everything should work fine. I''ve just tested it myself using your example data.

yes. i removed the flag(test run) and even then it is not updating in database.

i think i am not populating the structure tab correctly. can you help how the structure tab to be populated?
