Hi,
Anybody with experience on whether the locking can be incoporated for specific key figures eg. for the same customer, material combination the user might be in a template where - key figure Sales is displayed but another key figure Adjusted Sales can be changed.
At the same time I want to be able to copy the Sales figure from another cube. Currently for the Sales to be in the layout you have to select it in the Planning Level and that effectively locks it out.
Hi Marc,
This somehow does not seem to work. For another application I have a layout which has only one key figure Sales.. This is marked as "Comparison Column" hence being just for display.
If now I copy the Sales from another cube to this cube it gives me an error saying the data is locked.
When you say Display layout are you referring to the same as I understand i.e. "Comparison Column" or do you mean something else altogether.
thx

Clarification: Sales in the above case is formed of an 0account (eg. 400000) and 0AMOUNT combination

Hi,
Marc refers to a display only layout...You create this from a planning folder or a web interface.
Basicall, if you want to incorporate the sales in your input layout...there is, to my understanding, no sulution to your problem. Even if you set it as "display only"..you are locking it..because you have it in your level.
If you could display sales with an additional characteristic value that does not exist in the level...you wouldn't lock it though.
Not easy, not easy...Enjoy it.
Cheers,
Alberto
Hello ATW,
in general BPS locks only the key figures that you are changing. So the answer is yes. You can display sales in a layout and copy it from another cube at the same time i.e. change sales.
However, you can not combine sales with other key figures in a layout that is ready for input. Any input layout will lock all data associated with it including display only columns and reference data. (That's just how BPS works). The workaround is to put sales in a separate, display only layout.
