I'm trying to setup a UWL (Minimal Configuration) as per the HowTo guide on a EP6 SP9 system.
When I get to the stage 3.5 "Registering the System with the UWL" you need to go to the ""configuration Framework Page".
When selecting this option however, I get the following error:
"The specified root item cannot be retrieved from the configuration. Correct the entry before trying again."
The log files aren't much help, so I'm basically stuck at the moment.
Anyone hav a solution for this issue?
Jacques,
Have a look under System Admin - system config - km - uwl...and run the config from there. If you cant find it try running this iview com.sap.km.ConfigUWL

I looked for the iview com.sap.km.ConfigUWL but it is not found.
Infact we have not installed the Knowledge Management, but we installed the UWL using the Note Number 702255.

Usually this kind of issue issue occur due to a missing
permission to the Everyone group for the iview whose PCD is the
following:
pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/uwl/com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.
uwlSapWebDynproLaunch
After setting this permission, your issue will probably be resolved.

Hi Fabio,
thanks for your answer.
I went to
pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/uwl/com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.uwlSapWebDynproLaunch
and checked its authorizations, but I think all of them are OK.
The iview has group Everyone within its Permision list, and Administrator = read and End User = True for this group.
Anyway... I don't see how is it related with the issue... (of course, may be I'm blind 😛 )
Thanks again for your support.
Best Regards,
Marcelo

Hi,
After installing the KMC only we could able to configure it. Even after upgrading to SP11 as per the note number 702255 we are unable to configure UWL with out KMC.
Any way i need some more info.
Is it possible to have the Normal Read / Unread Documents of the SAP Business Workplace in UWL?
Thanks & Regards

Hi Lasse,
in the end, I had to create an OSS message. They told me that there is a view configuration setting "emphasizedItems", which is set to "unread" for SAP office mails by default.
To get the actual amount of unread/new items, I had to change this property to "new".
<View name="SAPOfficeMailView"
selectionMode="MULTISELECT"
width="98%"
supportedItemTypes="uwl.som"
...
emphasizedItem="new"
...
referenceBundle="task_sapofficemails">
You have to change this value and upload a new configuration XML file, clear de UWL cache and it's done.
Hope it helps as it helped me.
Best Regards,
Marcelo
Hi Marcelo,
Thanks so much for sharing. I have been tracking this message and I will write a KBA article with the solution that my colleague Ivan has given you. Thanks so much for documenting it here!
