Netweaver 7.3 installation failing

I have been tasked with installing Netweaver 7.3 on Win2k8 with SQL server 2008 Ent x64. This is my first installation so I read through the Master Guide SAP NW 7.3 MG_NW73_1_2.pdf and the SAP Netweaver 7.3 ABAP and JAVA for Process Integration on Windows and MSSQL.pdf before beginning the Installation.

All the prerequisites have been met. I selected the Process Integration option from sapinst as I need to have both ABAP and Java on the same server. The installation crashes on step 40 of 41. Deploy Java components. Looking through the error mesage does not provide any real clues as to what could be causing the crash.

If you have more than one network, choose one IP address from each of

the networks and add them to the instance profile as follows:

icm/server_port_N1 = PROT=P4, PORT=5$(SAPSYSTEM)04, HOST=[the choosen ipaddress from network_1]

icm/server_port_N2 = PROT=P4, PORT=5$(SAPSYSTEM)04, HOST=[the choosen ipaddress from network_2]

Markus - I checked that the firewall was disabled on all ports (Development system)

Nesimi - We only have 1 IP address assigned as it is a development server. I did however add a line to the Default profiles for icm/server_port_N1 = PROT=P4, PORT=5$(SAPSYSTEM)04, HOST= [The IP address of the server] and then tried to reinstall. It unfortunately crashed again with a slightly different error message.

I am not sure what the proposed SOLUTION is referring to. To be honest this is my first Netweaver install as I work primarily with SAP BPC(MS) and this installtion process is not as straightforward.

Cheers. I also aencountered this error 'undefinedStatus:AlreadyDeployedDescription"  while installing SAP NW 7.31 PI (SQL 2012). Checked MMC, all instances are already online. I saw Pau's comments above. Brought instances offline/online. Went back to the install dialog screen, selected retry button. Installation is now complete and successful.

Hi All,

In this case go ahead & increase the following parameters:

• § connections from 50 to 100
• § connection lifetime from 600 to 1200
• § max connections from 100 to 200
• § time to wait for connection 60 to 600

After changing the parameters restart the Java Instance and restart the installation and select continue with old option. It should work.

Hi

I am facing the same problem as you did with your SAP Netweaver 7.3 installation. My installation hangs on the Deployment of Java components. When I check the logs I am getting the following errror:- When I check SAP is running in deployment mode. Could you advise if you were able to resolve your issue and what the resolution was. Thanks.

We're also facing this issue during installation NW7.3 Java, only with ADS.

Anyone can provide the solution?

I am having the same issue with NW 7.3 Java Installation. I am on AIX 6.1 and DB2 9.7.

The installation hangs on  "Deploying Java components" which is step 45 of 46.

It does not throw me any error but sits there for a long time. I see the below logs in deploy_api_0.log

Hi,

We finally were able to install ADS only by reseting the installation, starting and stopping SAP system and restarting the sapinst by running "run the old option". By doing this, we're able to install ADS successfully.

I got the Same Problem here with an Installation of a 7.30 Java Instance. Somebody got a Solution?

Please check whether your instance is running completely (using SAP MMC) or check the processes in the task manager.

Also check whether a local firewall is enable that prevents the Java process to connect to the P4 port.
