Material description with ! mark as starting character.

Hi Experts,

Can anyone let me know the reason behind the following issue in our system?

when I am creating the materila master, system is not allowing the Material description with "!" escalator mark as starting character. our client requires to maintain the material description for some materials with "!" escalator mark as starting character.

Need help to resolve this.
