inbound sms to SAP CRM

Hello,

we have a requirement from the client for them to be able to send sms from mobile phone into SAP CRM system and for this sms to be transformed into a sales order. So, my question is - if someone have had similar requirement and how it was resolved, using which technique.

Any suggestions would be valuable

This can be achieved through ERMS.

You need to configure one email ID which will receive an email when user sends SMS to SAP CRM on particular number.

the email can be configured in exchange server to route to SAP CRM.

Once the Email is in SAP CRM..through ERMS routing you can create whatever you want to.

You can have contents of SMS in the incoming email through the configuration in Exchange Server..

What i dont understand is how the exchange server is going to receive the sms if its set to receive emails?

It depends on your hardware, but exchange servers can be configured to receive SMS. See, for instance, this tutorial:
