we have some restricted (sensitive)documents and would like to give access to those documents for the users as read only. However we do not want the users to print, edit, copy/save as, or email the documents. I know we can restrict the access to read only but does it prevent the user from printing, emailing or copying the document
Can this be accomplished via authorization? If so how do we do that?
Your immediate response will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Viji
Viji,
well, if users have sufficient permissions to open the documents in, say, MS Word; the can naturally use all of Word's functionality. This includes modifying the document (though they won't be able to replace the original document in KM), printing, sending via e-mail etc.
Authorizazions im KM will not help here, unfortunately. Maybe for MS office documents at least, you might want to take a look at Microsofts rights management software (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011401841033.aspx).
Alternatively, have you thought of using PDF files and using Adobe's protection measures?

Dominik
