MATERIL DISCRIPTION EDITABLE IN ME51N / ME21N

Dear Consultants ,

While creating PR / PO having material code , once the material code is entered the material description is comes from material master , but it is in editable mode and we can change the material description at than time.

How can we restrict the user to change the material name while PR / PO creation or we can grayout the PR / PO having account assignment (Asset / Cost centre )

Goto MM>PURCHASING>PURCHASEORDER>DEFINE SCREEN LAYOUT AT DOCUMENT LEVEL>SELECT ME21N OR ME22 (WHICH T.CODE YOU WANT THIS SETTINGS) AND DETAILS ,SELECT BASIC DATA AND SELECT THE TEXT FEILD FROM OPTIONAL TO DISPLAY. come back and save, then check your settings

So when creatin or changing p.o the material text automatically will come and user cannot change it, because it is in display mode

for p.req

Goto MM>PURCHASING>PURCHASE REQUITION >DEFINE SCREEN LAYOUT AT DOCUMENT LEVEL>SELECT ME25N OR ME52(WHICH T.CODE YOU WANT THIS SETTINGS) AND DETAILS ,SELECT BASIC DATA AND SELECT THE TEXT FEILD FROM OPTIONAL TO DISPLAY. come back and save, then check your settings

hi..

restrict the user for material name..

go to

SPRO..MM..Purchaising...Purchase Order..Define Screen Layout at Document Level.

here search the field selection group ME22N/ME23N(if it is not there then copy the ME22/ME23 and create the new one)

and then double click it..

then go to basic data,item field selection grp..here you will get. short text...select the display check box against it..and save..

likewise we can do for ME51N...but for that we have to go to purchase requistion..
