Error during installation of SAP solution manager

I encounter error when installing solution manager. I would like to apply the correction instruction for SAP note 1126481. However, it is just in the installation phase and no system installed as I need the solution manager key before I can complete the installation. How can I do it?

In which phase you face this error ? It seems that ABAP stack is already installed and you can try to logon to solman abap stack to apply the note correction. Also, just confirm the SP level of this current installation whether this note is applicable or not.

And probably you need the solman key for system installation other than solman, right ?

Also check some more threads related to this problem, check whether SAPJSF user already exists or not.

    • Hello,

If thjis is a new installation then it should fail when it tries to start the Java Machine.

The reason is this is when the JVM is created, and thus is being started with default java parameters.

These parameters are not sufficient to start th eJVM on a X64 system because the default is 1024 for the MAXHEAPSIZE, but the JVM will need to be set to 2048. Indeed any parameters you need for your JVM will need to be set.

I would advise you stop the install. Then run configtools and set your java parameters.

Then in SAPMCC start the JVM. You can check dev_Server0 in user\sap\ for any errors. if it loads fine, then

the JVM should start. Once you have it started, you can re-start the installation, continuing with the existing configuration.

Then it will advance to the step it failed and try to start the JVM.

I don't see how this error can be avoided, as you can't set the JVM parameters until the J2EE folder is created and there is a JVM and a configtools to set the parameters, and this point in the install it will try to start the JVM with insufficient parameters.

Depending on what logs you check, thsi may not be evident, but if in dev_server0 you see it try to load a value of 1024 for MAXHEAPSIZE you know thus is the problem.

Hope this hits the nail on the head.
