BIN creation directly in Production Server

Dear all,

Can we create BIN directly in Production Server without creating in Golden Server.

I mean does it will work if we directly create in production server ?

Please suggest your view.

Hi,

Normally we will create bins in develpoment sever and will test whether the materials are picking or putaway from these bins. in quality sever. Then we will move these bins to production. You can create bins directly in production server, but if data inconsistencies comes means its tedious task to resolve. Bins creation in production server is against the rules. Production server is nothing but live server where the end user performs the day to day transactions. Creating bins directly in this server without testing is liable to different inconsistency issues. I hope this will clear your doubt. Thanking you.

storage bins are master data and not customizing, hence they are created in production system directly.

if you create them in development system, then you do not get any transport request.

(but it is possible to create a transport request manually and add the LAGP table entries to it)

but usually bins do not have individual names, a warehouse has a certain structure, and bins get identified by coordinates.

you can customize a schema for the naming and generate the bins.

this schema can be transported.

And then you just execute LS05 to generate the bins
