Hi Ravi,

Multiple data sources is not a good thing to use in CR. If you must then make sure you can link them, note that you will get a warning when you try to add the second DB source. Option is to use a subreport and link the subreport by a common field in both sources or you can use a formula.

As for a Crosstab report it may be easier to create a manual crosstab, don't use the Wizard.

Good luck

Time to go back to the beginning.

What data source are you using and does CR XI R2 support what it is you are using?

If it is classic SAP data sources, like BE, BW, BEX etc., then you should post your question to the [SAP Integration Kit forum|;.

If not then explain what you mean by "Objects /dimensions"?

Thanks

Hi Don,

Thank you very much for you support.

I am using Crystal report Xi R2 and database is Oracle 10G.

I want to create a cross tab report base on two tables but there is no any join between these two tables. All columns and data type are same in both tables.

Like in WEBI we merge dimension objects (columns) at report level, same we want to do in the crystal report.

Is there any way to merge objects in the crystal report?

Reporting Tool: Crystal Report XI R2

Database: Oracle 10G

Thanks & Regards,

Ravi

Hi Ravi,

Thanks for explaining. You could use a Command Object then. What ever SQL WEBI uses you can paste into the Command and the results should be the same then. You just have to link the tables in the SQL statement, Sorry I don't know WEBI so not sure how it relates the tables and then translates that to SQL.

What you may want to do is post to the [WEBI forum|; and ask that forum how to convert your 2 dimensions into a SQL statement. Once you get that then you can paste it into the Command, you'll find that in the database wizard once you are connected to the DB.

Like I said, unless you can link the 2 tables, because CR is a relational database reporting tool you won't be able to.

Another option is to have the main report based on one dimension and add a subreport based on the second dimension. then you can link the main to sub using common fields and in theory it should give you the results from both.

Another option is to use a Stored Procedure and merge the 2 dimensions Server Side. If you search the Kbase on Oracle Store Procedure you'll find an example of how to, CR requires a Cursor to hold the data.

Corsstab's in CR are quite limited so as another work around you can create a manual crosstab report, don't use the wizard, and simply drop the fields into the main with the option to use multiple columns in the detail section.
