Sales Order Backorder Number sequence

Expert,

I am facing a special requirement being ask by a client on SAP 88 PL14.

What this client is looking for is that say for example a Sales Order #143 is created. When this Sales Order #143 get backordered through past delivery dates or partial shipments on quantity, they want a system generated order # like #143-1 to represent that it is a backorder to Sales Order #143.

Is their any possible add-on that might be able to handle this requirement or even just to be able to handle the new order number-sequencing would help.

My appreciation to any input that will assist in getting close to the resolution of this inquiry.

Sincerely,

Jose

    Hi Jose,

The Add-on is possible if you can utilize Segment field which is currently only be used by Purchase Order.

    Thanks,

    Gordon

If you check PO screen, Segment is available to distinguish PO with same document number.

However, you may find difficult to make it work for sales order because system logic do not consider this field. You have to be creative.
