Hello everybody
I need to create the inspection lot when goods leave the vendor.
And, of course, this lot number has to be the same I will receive in my warehouse.
I'm in an AFS system and my idea is to try to manage this with inbound delivery, but i haven't found a way to do it.
Any suggestion about this or any other solution??
thanks a lot
Simona
Hello Simona,
Truly speaking thereu2019s no any specific way to manage this as how come system know the goods have left vendoru2019s premises.
If your vendor is accessing your system then it might be. This could happen if your vendor is another plant code in your server.
You can activate inspection type 10 in plant A (Vendor Plant) so that while booking sales in A, system will generate an inspection lot in A. Unless you clear this lot you can not post goods issue i.e. sales in A.
If you are dealing with outside vendor, perhaps source inspection can be better option to implement. But there also there is no any specific event which ensures you that goods have left from vendoru2019s premises.

Thanks a lot...
the vendor is not a plant and not a warehouse....
i'm trying to create a new inspection type linked with inbound delivery....or something linked with the confirmation in PO.
another way to try is the ispection vendor...i've read that is also possible to create the inspection lot.
Do you know how it works??
thanks again
Simona
Hi Simona,
OK. What you can do is, activate inspection type 01 in MM01 / MM02 QM view. As a result of which as soon as you carry out goods receipt transaction against purchase order, system will generate one inspection lot, posting the stock to quality inspection.
But, in order to generate the lot the triggering point here is the goods receipt. Possibly these goods might have been dispatched from vendors premises in last week. My confusion is, there should be some input to system where you can acknowledge that goods have left vendoru2019s premises. To the best of my knowledge system understands this only if you do GR in your system.
Try this if works for you!

Anand
Hi Anand
yes...we have to move the triggering point from GR moment to inbound delivery creation moment.
I mean: creation of PO, then when the vendor send goods (I think that in some way him inform my customer) they have to create an inbound delivery in the system and in that moment the lot inspection has to be created.
it seems possible for you??
thanks and regards
Simona
Hi simonella ,
I had your requirment before. Unfortunately, in standard system, QM does not support this logic.
I had tried to config our inbound delivery type to create inspeciton lot when it created. But there is no vendor in the lot, so our dynamic modification can not work as the quality level must counted by vendor.
So, if you want to use QM under non-standard solution, you can assign an inspection type to your inbound delivery type, also the inspection type assign to your material rightly. Then, when you create inbound delivery, inspection lot can be triggered.
Just do it and let me know whether it can work.
