Download WWI documents from the SAP system

Former Member

Hi,

We are using SAP ECC 6.0 EHP3 and are looking for a solution for offline availability of WWI documents stored in the SAP system.

End users would like to download a selection of these documents (cards for fire brigade) for upload (via memory stick) in standalone PCs in the fire engines.

Where and how to start? All hints will be very much appreciated!

Thanks very much in advance.

Kind regards,

Caroline

Hello caroline

by standard you can support the users by preparing an "EXP_CALL" scenario using the report distribution functionality of EH&S

You can export the WWI documents either as WWI (= RTF) files or as PDF files or ....

Refer to:

http://www.consolut.com/en/s/sap-ides-access/d/s/doc/YX-EHS_SRE_IMG_121 (sorry I found only the german link)

Hopefully these links will give you an idea which options you have.

With best regards

Christoph,

I will need one of my colleagues from Document Management to follow up on your suggestions. We will try in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for your help!

Kind regards,

Caroline

Hi,

we have implemented a download to frontend functionality by implementing one of the menu exits in CG50/CG54.

Hello all

the functionality Michael discribed has been used by others too. A further thread in this FORUM describes this. Sorry. I was not able to find it (the number) immedeately.

In any case: you need to differentiate between "raw report" and "final report". In my opinion it is much better to use the "report distribution EXP_CALL variant" to get the final report. Using the exits in most cases you will download only the raw report or you will prepare a functionality (on the top which is still existing) to create during the dowload the final report.

Generally.the business need of the customer is a driver in selection of a solution. The EXP_CALL variant is most useful (in my opinion) if the customer would liek to get documents regurlarly on a "file server" etc. The CG50/Cg54 exit variant will be in most cases not anautomated solution (may be in the background you could create the EXP_CAL but why not use the SAP functionality)

With best regards
