error material not maintained by purchasing when creating info record

Hi Expert,

I have an issue when creating info record, error says "Material ******* not maintained by purchasing". I've checked in MM03 purchasing view, all has been maintained and at the bottom there is message says "No plant-specific data exist". Accounting view also maintained. I've also checked in MARC table for this material and plant. It existed. I cannot see anything wrong on the material master setup but not sure why am i having this error...

I've check PSTAT in MARC table for this material and plant. There's no E but VDLBG. What does it means??

Hi Crystal,

It means the Material had not been extened to the Purchasing view , so goto t-code MM01 enter your material and plant and select the purchasing view and just save.And then check it out it will work.

So you have to goto MM01 and extend the material for purchasing view(enter the mandatory feilds) and do your transaction.

Sorry Vijay, i don't understand on the 1st option. What do u mean by

"check did the material have purchasing view for same plant-the info-record you are creating!"

I'm talking about the same material same plant.and the purchasing view maintained in material master.

Hi Crystal,

Goto SE16N and enter the table "MARC" and check for the field "MARC-PSTAT field. if the field value contains E that means the material has Purchasing view".If not Goto MM01 and enter the Material and then plant select the purchasing view and extened it and check to create a new PIR.

Hi

There are two reason for this error

1.Either your material is not maintained in purchasing veiw ( goto MM01 and extend the material for purchasing view)

2.The maintanance status for the material (E-purchasing )is not maintained) check the X plant material status in BASIC DATA 1 view and plant specific material status in MRP 2 VIEW.( Goto MM50 extend the material staus fior E- purchasing for the material)

Hi,

Error says "Material ******* not maintained by purchasing" & you checked purchasing view has been maintained.

OK. Just cross check following optionS

Option-1: You creating info- record for material with combination of plant & vendor....check did the material have purchasing view for same plant-the info-record you are creating!

Option-2: If no purchasing view for material with same plant , just extend in t.code MM50 for E Purchasing

Option-3: Check the material for same plant, did Procurement type F (External procurement) is there

Option-4: Check Profit Center in Plantdata/ sto-2 view of material.

Check MARA-PSTAT for Maintenence status whether you have the below indicators for the relevant views.

A Work scheduling

B Accounting

C Classification

D MRP

E Purchasing

F Production resources/tools

G Costing

K Basic data

L Storage

P Forecasting

Q Quality management

S Warehouse management

V Sales

X Plant stocks

Z Storage location stocks
