No capacity consumption of PP/DS orders

Former Member

Hi all,

I have the following issue in APO 7.0. My SNP planned orders have a correct capacity consumption. But after converting them into PP/DS planned orders the resource consumption is zero.

Which setting is missing here? Why do my PP/DS planned orders have no capacity consumption?

Thanks for your reply!

Jan

We had the same problem and had to apply the following OSS Note to fix it:

Note 657185 - RTO: Sample code for calculating bucket consumptions 4.0

Hi,

There are two feilds in cdps_REPT report one is bucket consumption other is time continous consumption. Bucket consumption will be shown for SNP planned orders and not PPDS planned orders.

Good one. When I change the layout of the CDPS Report, I see the PP/DS relevant fields with the correct resource utilization.

But my major issue stillt exists. The SNP optimizer ignores the capacity consumption of the PP/DS planned orders.

Hi,

If your SNP horizon is outside of the PPDS horizon, SNP will not consider this.

Please check you horizons.

Hi,

I am having the same problem. Jan have you been able to solve the problem? I think the issue is like you also noticed that the Bucket resource consumption (V) is 0 for the PPDS PDS. You can try to go to ECC PDS_MAINT and from there add some value to your PPDS PDS bucket resource consumption. Then you need to still run CURTO_CREATE to transfer the changes to APO. After you now create PPDS planned order, is that taken into account for consumption?

I studied why the PPDS planned order's are not shown in SNP capacity view and found out that the above was the reason. My question would be that how the Bucket consumption for the PPDS planned order can be got correctly from the master data or is the only option to manually create the consumption from PDS_MAINT?

Thanks,

Jaakko

Hello Jan,

Please check if you have PPDS Source of Supply (PDS or PPM with type "P"), please also make sure the resouce has been assigned to the mode inside the source of supply.

PPDS order should explode PPDS source supply then it will consum resource capacpity.

Hi,

Can you please tell me how did you check that there is no capacity consumption for the PPDS order?

Are you able to see the resource/capacity details in the /SAPAPO/RRP2 for your planned order?

Hi Claire,

hi Manimaran,

thanks for your replies.

In the product view I see my PP/DS planned order with the operation and all details (resource, activity start, activity end,...)

The source of supply is a PP/DS PDS

In the resource reporting SAPAPO/CDPS_REPT the resource utilization is zero in all weeks with PP/DS planned orders and around 99% in all weeks with SNP planned orders.

The optimizer also ignores the capacity consumption of the PP/DS planned orders.

But I found a setting which is strange. In the mode of the PP/DS PDS a "short break" of 999.999.999 seconds is maintained.

Do you think this is relevant?

There is no relevancy to your issue with this setting. Ignore it. Can you just give me few details?

1.What is the type of your resource - Single-mixed, multi-mixed?

2. What is the available capacity for PPDS in Resource master?

3. What is the available capacity for SNP bucket in Resource master?

4. What is the Resource consumption per unit in PPDS PDS?

5. What is the Resource consumption per unit in SNP PDS?

6. What is the resource consumption in your PPDS planned order?

I think, if we analyze these things, we could find some idea.

Hi Manimaran,

due to your questions I realized, that the capacity requirement (field: Bucket Resource Consumption (Variable))

in the SNP PDS is > 0 but in the PP/DS PDS it is = 0.

I guess this is the reason for my problem. Which setting/customizing is necessary in R3 to fill the capacity requirements in the PP/DS PDS?

Hi Jan,

due to your questions I realized, that the capacity requirement (field: Bucket Resource Consumption (Variable))
in the SNP PDS is > 0 but in the PP/DS PDS it is = 0.

That is not a problem. Please check the duration at the Mode level. That is the capacity requirement.

Please analyze again and if possible share the answers of my questions.

Hi Manimaran,

please find below the answers to your questions:

1.What is the type of your resource - Single-mixed, multi-mixed?

Multimixed

2. What is the available capacity for PPDS in Resource master?

24h/day

3. What is the available capacity for SNP bucket in Resource master?

24h/day

4. What is the Resource consumption per unit in PPDS PDS?

0 seconds

5. What is the Resource consumption per unit in SNP PDS?

2777 seconds

6. What is the resource consumption in your PPDS planned order?

In the APO product view: 08:20:00 for one lot, but no resource consumption according to SAPAPO/CDPS_REPT
