To delete data from the Infocube

Hi ,

1. I want to delete request from a Infocube.

2. While deleting a request, am getting a message saying 'Request already updated in the target'

3. I have 2 options at the end of this message

a. Apply changes

b. a red cross mark

4. Here the targets are 1 DSO and 4 Infocubes

I am scared to click 'Apply changes' as I am not sure whats the effect. I want to delete the request only from the source.

Will clicking on 'Apply changes' delete the request from the targets also???

Plz help

Regards,

Ramya

    Hi,

It is good practise to delete this request first from the further targets i.e. in your case 1 DSO and 4 cubes and then only delete from current source.

Otherwise the reporting will have some negative impact. And once you delete request from targets you will not get the warning.

    Durgesh.

    Hi,

Are you looking to delete the request from all the 4 cubes? I hope your flow is 1DSO-->4 Cubes.

First you have to delete from 4 Cubes and then in DSO.

    Suman

    Hi ramya,

As you said data is being loaded from DSO to 4 Ics...

Before deleting the data from DSO --> you need to delete the data requests from data mart(further targets)...

to check further targets --> goto Manage screen of DSO --> clcik on data mart symbol --> it will display the further target to which data was loaded.

first delete data from ICs and then it will allow you to delete data request from DSO.

    Regards

    KP

    Hi

    As you said...

    My data flow is

    Source Infoubce -

    to----

    > 1 DSo and 4 Infocubes

1.Delete the requests from 4 infocubes and DSO(Targets)

2.Delete the requests from Source Infocube

    3.Re-load the required data

Note:If its Data marted in Targets, you cannot delete the requests from Source Infocube.Hence the requests from targets should be deleted first.

    Hope this helps...

    Regards

    Sai

    Hi,

Just check whether this cube is also feeding to any other cube ,check upward flow as well.

If it is already feeding up and that cube has already received the data. Data request from upwards flow Infoproviders needs to be deleted. Then only you delete the request from source cube.

    Thanks and regards

    Kiran

    Hi Ramya,

First check the reason that why do you want to delete request from source? does it contain wrong data? because if you want to delete that request from source then why do you want to keep the request in further targets?

So it's better to delete request from all the targets as mentioned earlier.

    Durgesh.

      Thank you all..

I had delete the data from the source, as this Infocube was not required anymore..

Since this data has already been loaded into different targets, I would not delete the requests from the source Infocube
