Hi,
I have created one General task list with a plant X. Can it be used in Maintenance Plans for equipments which are from plant Y.
what are the risks and challenges if i do so?

Maintenance planning plant in both equipment master and general task should be the same for correct usage of tasklist in maintenance plan otherwise you have to create another tasklist with maintenance planning plant of equipment master.

You need palnning plant for general task list.
even if you created for X planning plant you can very well create another counter for different planning palnt.
