Web-Based ALV Report

Former Member

I have an ALV report that is using one of the controls technology tools (it is using the class CL_GUI_ALV_TREE). Now my user wants to enhance this report so that they can access this report thru the web. Is this possible? How?

Thanks in advance!

I would assume you could view it thru ITS.

Hi Beth,

I have done this before. Created a report which displays the result as ALV. I assigned a transaction to this report and made it an easy web transaction. This can then be viewed through the ITS. Take care that all the GUI status options are actual buttons in your screen as EWT removes the std GUI status when it displays on the web.

Hope this helps

How did you do it? Can you please give me a guide on how to go about this? Thanks!

Hi Beth,

Create a transaction using se93. While creating the trasaction mark it as an easy web transaction ( Transaction Classification ) This can then be viewed through ITS. As Rich had mentioned I think that a normal transaction can also be viewed through ITS by just typing in the transaction code. Whether you actually require an EWT depends on how you want the user to access your transaction. I hope this helps.

Would users without SAP ids be able to use this web-based alv report? Should I assign them access to ITS? Will there be licensing issues?

Thanks again!

Hi Beth,

In order to access the report through the web the users would need access ( logins ) to SAP and should have the authorisation to execute the report/transaction. If the users can access the transaction in the regular SAP Gui they should be able to access it through ITS.

I am not sure about the licensing part...so would rather not comment on it.
