SAP PI 7.3 installation

Hi,

I was trying to install SAP PI 7.3 on SLES11 / DB2

But there was an error hence i have decided to uninstall it and again the error while uninstalling, that was because my software was there under /db2/<SID>/sapdata1.

Hence i have tried to delete the directories manually using SAP note 1259982.

After that i have tried to start installation everything was ok but sapinst does not prompt for ABAP export directories.

Could you please help me on this ?

...what happens instead? Do you get an error? Are you starting the installation as "continue with old installation"?

Hi Markus,

Sorry for the late reply but inbetween we had postponed installation to later date and now i have the same issue.

It is new (not continue old installation) and now it doesnot prompt for ABAP export directories. Strange, i don't know where to

check now for logs unfortunately

Could you please guide ?

Hi,

The installation logs should be in the /tmp folder if you have not set it explicitely.

/tmp/sapinst_instdir/../../../..

Also, you could continue giving the inputs into the SAPInst. Right before the installation starts you get a 'Summary' screen, where you can check the accepted parameters and review/change them accordingly. Let us know if the Summary screen shows the export directories.

Hi Srikishan,

Issue is no prompt for ABAP export directories after i have done deinstallation.

In the logs everything is ok and there are no errors, i wonder why there is no prompt for ABAP export directories ?

Hi Prabhakar,

Just to reconfirm, Were you already done with DB2 de-installation as well ?

If still nothing works, I would say you ask your Unix team to reinstall the OS afresh for you.

I have changed my SID and started fresh installation but found the below error in the last but one step - Deploy Java components.

Seems to be some problem with java component deployment. (ABAP is up and running already)

Now the error is solved.

Error was due to memory problem. We have decreased ABAP memory parameters as this system is for sandbox and installation is completed successfully.

Initially i am not sure what was the error with the first installation but when we decided to change SID and started an installation everything worked and completed.
