ARIBA implementation via PI

Hi Team,

We are integrating ARIBA cloud(P2O/P2P) with SAP. We are planning to use the ARIBA standard content for integration. By looking at the various blogs and document, we could understand that we can achieve this in below 2 ways. I need to know what is the pros and cons in each method.

1. Ariba network adapter - This will convert the ariba cXML data to XML and send it to SAP as idoc.

2. Webservice - Ariba can consume PI SOAP interface and send the data to SAP via RFC/Proxy.

Out of the above method which one should be the preferable solution while going with Ariba standard content.

Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi Baskaran

Ariba P2P/P2O does not use Ariba Network adapter (which is used for Ariba Network integration which is a different thing).

For Ariba P2P/P2O, it's either through web service or ITK, and if you have PI, it's better to go for web service. You can check for the RDS content on SMP below (login required)

Actually, all the content would be on Ariba Connect ( and ideally you should have an Ariba consultant to assist in this integration.

    Hi Eng,

In case of P2O, which approach is taken for master data integration. From what i read and understood there's a limited provision for master data integration using web service i.e. not all masters are covered. Is this true ? In that case are the masters integrated using csv files ?
