Material Document not getting posted.

Hi Guys:

Material document is not getting created when i try post the inventory difference using transaction LI21 ( Clearing of differences in Inventory Management ).

we are using WM , so physical inventory is carried out at Bin Level.

Did I miss anything in the config setting?

Hi Karthik:

After Posting the Inventory Difference @ WM Level using Li20, Bin stock is getting updated with the latest physical count result.

I need to post the inventory difference @ IM Level using Li21 , when i am doing that , i am getting an error message saying that material document can't be created .

Message No: LB001.

either you posted a wrong description of the error message text or a wrong error message number.

LB001 = Shortfall below avail.qty for batch & in storage loc.& amounting to & &

unfortunatly BL001 is a entire variable error message with 4 variables only (often used in user exits and z-reports, more convenient than creating own new messages)

So it is put together in the program itself.

Can you post the exact message text, only this way we can get a bit forward in this issue.

What storage type would you like to clear in LI21?

if 999, do you see a quant for this inventory document in this storage type?

Steps I did for carrying out Physical Inventory @ bin level:

1) Create system inventory Record ( Li01n)

2) Activate System Inventory Record (Li02N)

3) Enter Inventory Count (Li11N)

4) Clearing Differences in WM (Li20), it works fine till here

5) Clearing of differences in MM (Li21)

and when i am carrying out step 5 , i am getting below error.

Error Message:

No Material Document Was Created

Message no. BL001

Yes, Storage type used is 999 , I could see the Quant and when i selct the quant and hit the write off button ,

I am getting error message as Below.

I believe that you did these steps in that sequence, but this is not the answer to my questions.

LI21 clears the quants visible in the difference storage type with the stock in MM.

if there is nothing in the difference storage type, then you can clear anything (the inventory document is "autocleared")

Example.

if you had 100 book inventory in bin 1 , but you actually did not find anything there, then you counted zero, means the storage type 999 gets a quant of -100.

if you find this 100 in bin 2, then you enter a count of 100, which add a quant with 100 in storage type 999.

when you do LI20 to clear WM differences, then SAP is adjusting the differences within WM, -100 + +100 = 0

means huge difference within WM, but no difference between WM and MM. hence no LI21.

But this is just an assumtion as you did not answer my questions

Hi Jurgen:

I agree with your example, for example.

Bin Quantity is 2000, I carry out inventory and i counted it as 1990 , I do all the steps and when i do Li21 , Negative quant for 10 pieces will be showed up.

I used storage type 999 , and when i press enter and go to the next screen , it will display the list of quants that need to be wite off.

I Select the quant and hit the wite-off button. and when i do that i was getting an error message i told earlier.

do you have a pick or putaway quantity in this quant in storage type 999 ?

is the quant locked?

is somebody else in change mode in that quant?

is this the only item in your inventory document?

have you tried to execute LI21 in background?

do you require to enter a reason for the difference?

Yes , in the available quantity I could see the -ve quant ( Goods Issue/Pick) and + Quant (Goods Receipt/Putaway)

is the quant locked?

Quant is showing with unlocked logo.

is somebody else in change mode in that quant?

Nope

have a look with SE16 into table LQUA, are there really quantities in AUSME and EINME fields of the quant in storage type 999 ?

with open pick or put away quantities you cannot do any clearing, as the quantity is contained in an open TO.

then you need to search for the open TOs and cancel it.

I checked the Table LQUA , I don't have any quantities for pick up and putaway for the quant .

what ever adjustment we are doing in the transaction LI21 is a logical adjustment not physical.

is there any config setting i missed at inventory managament level that is stopping me in generating Material document in Li21.
