Hi Syed,

If you are talking about predefined mapping provided by SAP or available in SLD then you can import it in IMPORTED ARCHIVE.

Hi Syed,

In case you are referring to the import of standard contents for SAP PI use this link:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/44/5755451622311ee10000000a155369/frameset.htm

Hope this is useful.

Hi,

Can you please elaborate your question. You mean to import the XSLT mapping or what you want to import in to IR. If you want to import the XSLT mapping then you can use the imported archives.

Hello,

Export your mapping from xi 3.0 by pressing ctrlshift0 and then click the export icon. Provide a name for your mapping, the extension would be .xim.

Import your mapping to Pi7.11 by pressing ctrlshift0 and then click the import icon.

Hope this helps,

Mark

Hi Mark,

>>Export your mapping from xi 3.0 by pressing ctrlshift0 and then click the export icon. Provide a name for your mapping, the extension would be .xim.

Any particular reason why you want to export and import as .xim?

Is it not good enough just to perform a normal XI export (.tpz files)and import?

XI 3.0 to PI 7.11transport should be straight forward for mappings.

Hello Jaishankar,

Any particular reason why you want to export and import as .xim?

His original question was how to import a mapping. So I guessed that there were already existing mapping exports that he will just be importing.

But yup, transporting via .tpz should be way easier and faster

Hi Syed,

1. You should contact your BASIS team to copy these mappings from XI 3.0 to PI 7.0/PI7.1 as it invloves Upgrade activity.

2 .Many of us already started working on PI 7.1 installations but for some of our clients starting to work on PI 7.1 means upgrading the old XI/PI (3.0/7.0) system first. There are a few articles and blogs that show how to deal with such an upgrade/migration. Some of the objects from older (3.0/7.0) versions like adapters, adapter modules, java proxies just won't work with the PI 7.1 release but on the other hand we have a few objects that will work with PI 7.1 but in a different way. Judging from the PI/XI forum on SDN I believe it's worth to mention that some of most popular message mapping functions may not work with PI 7.1 as they used to with 3.0/7.0. The funcitons that I refer to are - If, Ifwithoutelse and Context caching functions. As you can see from SAP OSS Note 1264871 - Ifs,Ifswithout else, Context caching functions their behavior got changed a little bit with PI 7.1. Fortunately for us SAP prepared a nice help for correcting those mappings. As OSS Note 1264871 suggests aftr you import correct patch (SAPXIESR06P patch #16) a new report will be available at :

Not sure what you meant by pre-defined mappings. You can always export/import mappings by pressing ctrlshift0. However, importing of mappings are only supported from a lower to a higher version e.g XI3.0 to PI 7.0 and not the other way around.

Hope this helps,

Mark
