IDES ECC 6.0 upgrade to EHP5

Hi,

I got requirement to upgrade from ECC 6.0 to EHP5. but am having some doubts here

having C:/usr/sap--->is having 3 gb free space

D:/Oracle--->is having 25gb free space

E:/EHPI--->is having 200 gb free space (new drive)

1)So can i goahead with this free space?if i go how to proceed with EHPI?

2)if not possible with above space requirement then how can i gohead?

R/3:ECC 6.0

DB:Oracle 10.2.0.4

OS:windows 2003

Hi Venkat,

The IDES upgrade is not supported. But as per SAP Note 799639, for installing EhPs on IDES systems:

From the technical point of view Enhancement Packages can be implemented into IDES systems.

BUT: This is only true if the customer is licensed for all AddOns / components that are implemented in the IDES ERP System.

Because of this "limitation" we recommend to wait for coming IDES versions/releases that already include the EhP's.

It shows that there could be issues during the EhP Installation. So would be best to go for ERP EhP5 IDES installation(SAP Note 1601314) directly unless you 'really' need to update your existing IDES system.

Hi Venkat,

Free space requirement for installing EhP5 on Ecc 6.0:

EHPI Directory : Approximately 15 GB

Download Directory (temporary space requirement): Approximately 20 GB

DIR_TRANS : Approximately 30 GB

Shadow system requirement : Approx size of your existing ERP instance SAP directory ..\usr\sap\<SID>.

Free space in the database : Approximately 50GB.

The file space requirements seems fine, although you could add some more space to C:\usr\sap for the shadow instance.

But you need to check the free space in Oracle DB. Keep approx 90GB atleast.
