SAP EP for GRC

I am referring to the Master Guide for GRC 10.0 and found the following :

Required - Install NetWeaver 7.02 SP06http://service.sap.com

Required - Install Access Control 10.0 Plug-In (RTA)

Optional - Install 2nd Access Control Plugu2013In (RTA)

Required - Install SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal 7.02 (min. SP06)http://service.sap.com/instguides

Can someone please tell me why is EP mentioned as required component ? Should it have been optional ?

If its required, then where do we use it and do we need to implement EP Core & EP on the same server as GRC.

You have to install with usage type of java with EPC as well as EP

Hi,

If you look at installation guide of AC 10 then it says for installation of AC 10.0, Portal component is optional. Check below extract from installation guide:

(Optional) SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java Components

Portal 7.02

Yes, you are right. I'll proceed with ABAP + GRC AC component.

I assume that was a mistake in master guide or it was referring to an environment where portals are used in conjunction (as a business requirement). Please let me know if you'd have heard of any specific function of portal in working of GRC.
