Hi BW Experts,
Can anyone help me on this.
We have created a customised cube ZABC_C01.
This is a sales related Billing cube.
in this we are using dimensions as customer, material, bill date, organization.
in 0customer info object we have lot of disp. and navigational attributes (account group, city, address ....etc)
same as for other info objects also we have lot of disp. and navigational attributes(material, billdate....etc)
Now i want to know whether for each of the attribute we have 3 master data tables? (master, text and hierarchy)
how exactly we have to model the infoobject can any one help me on this?
thanks
xys redd.
Hi XYS redd,
I design infobject and cube attributes based on the slowly changing nature of attributes.
-Know from the requirements about attributes which should reflect the state as on day of reporting. These should go to attributes of Infoobject.
-If the attributes are slowly changing then make it a point to keep it in cube or time dependent attribute of master data
-Sometimes due to performance in reading master data tables you can make a decision to keep some attributes in the cube itself(If the cube is small, I generally do this).
I think you should also analyse what transaction report the cube caters to and do some ERD to understand.
Best Regards,
Anil
Hi !
the info objects which are solly used as display attributes in other objects as exclusive attributes and will have no master data,no text ,no hirarchies.
And All the infoobjects which are used as navigational attributes will be having masterdata.
This mean only infoobjects which are used as navigational attibutes will have 3 tables. and others will not have them all.
With regards
Ashwin
