Using Barcoding data entry with IM

Hello,

I would like to request your experience to answer the following question:

Is it possible to run the standard SAP transaction for reception and stock transfer, using a barcode scan (to record PO number, Material number, quantity, batch...) if we are using only SAP MM-IM.

Is there any SAP barcoding solution that can be used with SAP MM.

Hi,

to be more specific , you don't need to go for full fledged warehouse solution but you need to activate LE-MOB component which ask for warehouse number . the only way you can access LM transaction or your custom menu .

here is my suggestion and i am sure it will work if you want to keep it at IM level.

1.) create one dummy storage location and assign one standard SAP warehouse to that .

2.) create a screen using module pool for 16X20 screen size and put your logic .

3.) assign Tcode to screen and create your custom menu under LE-MOB option

4.) create ITS service for your LM menu and configure same in RF device .

5.) call ITS link from RF device and perform your transaction

hope, it will show you path for your solution .

Is this seting like lean WM implementation? only create warehouse number without generating TR and TO.

Are the standard RF transaction suitable for an IM usage in this case? (example for reception process).

If we doesn't create a warehouse Number, can we use barcoding in IM? may be it requires a specific devlopment?

no its not like lean WM . in lean WM you go for WM solution in different server itself .. and ERP system contains one warehouse number to transmit all data to other server .

standard RF solution will not work .. for your any kind of label printing as label is handled using SU/HU environment only . if you are not going for WM then cant go for HU/SU.

now to print label , i would suggest to develop your own screen and forms as per requirement . generate ITS templet and use in RF .

you can put any logic on your custom screen .. there us lot of FM available which will perform you stander SAP functionality in RF .
