General question about EhP implementation

Hi guys,

I have a customer that have several functional modules on the same system (FI, MM, HCM, etc).

They need to upgrade to EhP4 in order to get some new functionality on HCM.

The question is: Is there a way to implement the EhP4 for HCM objects only? I mean, is there a way to affect only HCM functionality?

This is critical for the customer because the only reason for them to upgrade is for HCM.

Your help is much appreciated.

Hi,

I am assuming, all the ERP components currently on your system are at Version 600.

To update to EhP4, you would need to register the system onto a Solution Manager and generate the Stack XML via MOPZ.

During registration via SMSY, select the HCM as relevant for your ERP system.

The MOPZ gives you the option to select the corresponding 'Technical Usage' you want relevant to EhP4. HCM is on of the Technical Usage. Hence this option could be apt for you.

I don't agree with your points. If you want to upgrade your system to EHP4, then you have to upgrade SAP_APPL and EA-APPL which is must for a system to be on EHP4. Additionally, you can plan for HCM to 6.04.

Now, as far as your question is concerned that other module will not effect then it is not possible that only HCM will be effected. other modules will also effect. Only thing that you can do is, don't activate Business function related to other modules.

Also, you have to plan full testing because all modules will be effected because of this.
