integrated ITS on WAS 6.40

Former Member

hi,

although i have seen that there are some topics which point in the same direction, i did not find the answers i am looking for - hence here goes my question:

i was trying to check the integrated ITS of my WAS 6.40.

i set the appropriate entries under utilities - ITS for "publishing" (internal) and under "testing" and path: sap/bc/gui/sap/its which does exist in ICF. i created a webtransaction internet service called ztest (after publishing, this service does not show up under the ICF its-node and when testing i get following URL in the Browser:

http://myhost:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/ztest3/!

which looks pretty correct to me - still i get the error-message:

Folgender Fehlertext wurde im System myhost prozessiert: Unzulässige Anweisung bei ICF im Programm CL_HTTP_EXT_ITS===============CP .

Der Fehler trat auf dem Applikationsserver myhost und im Workprozess 0 auf.

Die Abbruchart war: RABAX_STATE

Furthermore i created manually a corresponding service-entry in the ICF under sap/bc/gui/sap/its/ztest

with handler "CL_HTTP_EXT_ITS" (because i read that you have to have an entry right here if you want the integrated ITS to do the job).

still no chance - any ideas why this does not work ???

thanx, Matthias

1. The ICF service dosent get created automatically for the ITS service (created from SE80), you have to manually create the ICF service.

2. In the ICF service, you have to manually set all the service parameters you have set at ITS service at SE80.

Also check out the online help at

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a6/f80f409ef2ec69e10000000a155106/content.htm

thanx for the hint Durairaj,

so far i know, that i have to set up the ICF service manually. now i set up same parameters in ICF and in SE80 - but still i get a st22.

I also tested sap services like webgui from within ICF - here i get the prompt for user authentication and afterwards an error: @@ Runtime error: Unresolved external function strwidth() declared in module sapxjutil!

Is there any monitoring tool, which tells me about the state of ITS, ICM ?

Is there any way to check if the integrated ITS is working properly?

I guess, something is wrong in the basis setup - checked smicm parameters for icm - but this does not tell me much...

oops - just found the diagnosis tool with report SITSPMON which displays a list of parameters for internal ITS:

this list looks like this:

Hi,

From SICF tree, select your service and then go to edit->Trace->Activate trace

Then run your service and then come back to SICF and look at the trace from Edit->trace->display trace.

now i checked on another WAS 640 and everythings fine - except the F4-help for my testdynpro (flightconnections)online is like multilingual chaos - a raw html page with chinese, and european characters.

The Status-Program for the ITS shows in both system the same parameters and both ok...

Hi Matthias,

please make sure that you have a appropriate 6.40 kernel running with at least patchlevel 35 better a recent one.

We need to stay on WAS 6.2 because 6.2 is the WAS that is release for 4.7. SAP is telling us that 4.7 will be available on WAS 6.4 officially in 4Q 2005.

I want to know if there is an add-on that will give us the integrated ITS functionality on the 6.2 platform. We are looking to replace our current ITS server with a WAS server and we believe we can do that with an integrated ITS on this WAS server. Any ideas?

Thanks

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

there are no plans to provide the integrated ITS functionality for a 6.20 WebAS. You will have to use a pure 6.40 system (kernel + database) to use integrated ITS. You might also want to check the FAQ in SAPNet http://service.sap.com/sap-its where these questions are answered.

Best regards,

Klaus
