Message_Type_Unknown and Console Data obsolete error in creating mass roles

Hi Experts,

We have been facing issues while creating around 4500 (derived & position roles). We tried using SECATT and the script allows us to create one role at a time. While doing it for mass creation the script encounters the error as below.

**AT377 Control data is obsolete ,rerecord (VERBS-NAME: CREATEOBJECT CATT:GETGUISERVICES Callno: 0).

We have upgraded our SAPGUI to 720 but still with no luck.

Input file for SECATT:

[VARIANT] [DESCRIPTION] PARENT_ROLE CHILD_ROLE CHILD_ROLD_SHORT_DESC

  • BDC field value BDC field value BDC field value

*ECATTDEFAULT Z:E_D-MD_DPVENMSTSEN_ALL_001 Z:E_D-MD_DPVENMSTSEN_XXAFF_001 Display Vendor Master Data Australia Affiliate

We tried using LSMW but the script stops recording after the profile has to be created while saving the role.

Can someone offer some help on how to correct the error. If someone can share a screenshot/doc step by step on how to create newly created derived role from master global roles and create position roles for newly created derived roles.Any help appreciated.

Cheers,

KB

First let me clarify that I do not use script to build role. But from the above statement it seems you are trying to automate profile generation as well. How this will work for a mass number of roles? They are supposed to have different values. Normally mass role creation via script end up in adding transaction code to role menu only. Rest of the things for manual activity only.

Hi,

When you made the recording did you exit to the main menu or did you remain within the PFCG screen? I've had this problem before when I have not cleanly exited the recording. The first line in the script executes OK but the second one fails with the error message you have listed.

Can you elaborate what a position role is? Is that different to a derived role?

Hi,

It seems there is an error while the SECATT script was created.
