Requirement in Query Designer

Hi,

I want be implement following requirement in Query Designer:

CASE1:

If Material in InfoProvider does not include in Action (Action is another Flatfile with Materialu2026.)

AND

If Price does not exist in current year (current year is which the user gives in input variable when executing query)

CASE2:

If Material in InfoProvider does include in Action

AND

If Price does exist in current year

CASE 1 and CASE 2 can be implemented with the help of restricted key figures and calculated key figures with Boolean operators in Query designer. The output will come 1 (true) or 0 (false).

Now the requirement is:

When CASE 1 is fulfilled, the value "1" should be written in a new InfoObject A (Characteristic)

OR

When CASE 2 is fulfilled, the value "2" should be written in the InfoObject A (A is the name of InfoObject).

Means InfoObject A populates with value 1 or 2 in the report output.

This is not a planning query. How I can implement this?

    If it is fine your requirments, you can populate a KF with 1 or 2 instead of characteristic.

    If for some reason, you need to do that for a characteristic, you will have to use Virtual Characteristic concept in which you will need to write a BADI for your logic but this will reduce the performance of the query as BADI/customer exit will be called for every single record in the info provider.

    If you want to do this requriement for Characteristic,

    then you are suppose to do at the back end not at the front end i.e at Query designer level.

    In back end, just create two or Infoobjects i.e A, as per requirement, as you mentioned....

    Then you add that new Object to your cube, then map that object with the object (I hope MATERIAL FLAT FILE) you want to retrieve the Case of 1 or 2 where it has value "ACTION" then in the transformation, Select the RULE TYPE as "FORMULA" and apply the FORMULA SYNTAX "COUNT" with same logic '0 or 1 '.

    and you display that new field in the report as per your logic.
