Hi Expert,
I have question about upload A/R Invoice via Data Transfer Workbench.
I have made Bill of Material :
- L01 = 1 (as Parent)
- Hour = 1 (as Child)
I want to use that Bill of Material for making A/R Invoice.
When I load Bill of Material Item (L01) that we have made in A/R Invoice Rows. It shows Quantity :
- L01 = 1
- Hour = 1
My need is I can modify Quantity for Bill of Material that I have defined before on transaction level (A/R Invoice) :
- L01 = 1 --> No Changes
- Hour = 1 --> 3
Can we do this one with DTW ?
Can somebody give me some advice how to do this ?
Thanks
Regards

Hi Gordon,
I need to use Bill of Material because I need COGS for my Non-Inventory Sales Item.
This is the backgroud :
For Example, I have a workshop.
I have standard time that we can charge to customer. For Example : 1 hour for L01. So, the Qty for L01 will be 1
But I need to know how long that job (L01) worked by my mechanic. This will be my COGS. For Example, my mechanic1 do that job for 2 hours. But mechanic2 can do the same job for 1.5 hours. So, the Qty for hour can't be 1. It must be 2 (for mechanic2). Time Taken by my mechanic will determine my COGS.
I use standar cost for hour, for Example $50
So I need to make my A/R Invoice :
Item --> Qty --> Price
L01 --> 1 --> $1000 (Parent)
Hour --> 2 (Child)
I will combine those 2 items in A/R Invoice. Using Bill of Material :
- I use L01 as Sales Item, Non-Inventory Item, and Non-Purchase Item. So That I use L01 for Sales Journal.
For Example : Item --> L01, Qty --> 1, Unit Price --> $1000
- I user Hour as Sales Item, Inventory Item, and Non-Purchase Item. So That I can get COGS Journal only.
For Example : Item --> Hour, Qty --> 2, Item Cost --> $50
In A/R Invoice the Journal Entry Wiil Be :
Dr Account Receivable $ 1000
Cr Sales $ 1000
Dr COGS $ 100
CR Available Hour $ 100

Hi Vicky Oktavianus,
If this component in the Bill of Material is a variable, why do you need it in the BOM?
Thanks,
Gordon
