For full-filling rush order

Dear Sap Guru

"During normal production week, there is a rush order from a customer for certain variant of a product.

There is no FG stock in buffer to cater to this demand.

This calls for a manual production order being created to produce from the line.

As a result, the line gets the parts for production issued from the stores resulting in the available stock of parts to fall below the defined safety stock.


The MRP run on the following day will result in:

Change in schedule lines for the entire planning period (1month) starting from the next day.

2.IS the witdrawl of the safety stock will effect the sechdule line line which has been already generated while running next MRPor the sechdule line for the raw material will be firmed

    If you are working with SA, then MRP will generate delivery schedule, based on the required qty and once it is released it will sent to the vendor.

    If you have already released scheduling line items, if a new requirement comes, if will create a new item will delivery status and it will be released to the vendor.

    If there is requirement to build the safety stock, then in the next MRP run system will create a new scheduling line item.

      As per my view point, you can use Make To Stock scenario i.e. strategy 10 / 40 for certain product variant for which you need to fulfill requirements of Rush order i.e. sudden customer requirements.

      Even as per standard SAP behaviour, you can use MTS for material variant. However, for configurable material you need to use MTO only.

      I am guessing here you are using Variant configuration. Pl. revert whether the same is case at your end or not.

    In order cover rush order, U have to follow following steps,

    1.Study the component history ,feedback from sales person,schadule the component 10% to 20% higher than custumer requirement. OR

    2.Make contingency/extra stock for the FG variant material.This may increase your inventory value ,but cover customer requirement.

    3.involve PPC Dept. to track component of the FG materials,

    4.system will only help to generate procurement proposals to meet requirement.
