Hello PP SAPPERu2019s.
Can you please share me your knowledge for me to understand the difference between MD06 and MD04 in detail. It would be greatefull if you explain with examples.

Hi,
MD04 is Stock / Requirement list, it will show the current situation for the material. Stock / Sale orders etc.
MD06 is MRP list, it will show the stock / requirement list as of the last planning run.
for Ex today morning 6 AM you have run the MRP at that time stock of X material was 200 PC.
In Md06 and MD04 will show stock as 200 PC after MRP run.
Around 9 AM you have created a sale order for 100 and do the delivery and Goods issue.
Now the MD04 will show the stock as 100 but MD06 will show as 200 (since it is based on last MRP run)
If you run MRP again, bot h MD04 /MD06 will show the stock as 100 EA.
Thanks,
JK

Hi
thanks for the input once again i have simulated the same in Q and after MRP the stock gets updated correctly in MD04 and MD06 and i also wanted to know how to identify whether a material has a specified schedule for how often MRP should run for that or not?
in my case MRP type is PD.

Hi,
If there is no batch job, then some of your MRP controllers may be responsible to run MRP run every day. So check the table MDKP to see the last MRP run time
you can also check in MD21, give the plant and material in the next screen, click the material, it will show the last time stamp.
If you need to know the user name who run the MRP, ask your basis team they may have report to check per user Id like STAD.
Thanks,
JK
Hi,
Major difference between these two Tcodes(functionalities) is that MD04 data is current, as of the time when you execute the transaction whereas MD06 displays all supply and demand elements that were current at the time of the most recent MRP run.
Making changes in MD06 will always update MD04. Most changes that you make in MD04 will not update MD06.
Hope it fulfils your purpose at some extent.
Regards
Chandra

Hi,
MD04 is Dynamic and MD06 is Statiic
Mdo4 gives latest stock details(ie, issues and receipts done after MRp run will be available)
whereas MD06 contains latest MRP run details.

Dear,
Basically these transactions are entirely different from each other.
MD04 shows current situation of materials.
MD06 shows last MRP date situation of materials.
The difference in selection screen in both transactions is given below:
MD04:
Individual select Same as MD06
Collective Selection Plant,MRP controller,
Production group, Vendor,
Product line and Class
Restrict Selection:
Material data, Planning file entry for MRP
MD06:
Individual select Same as MD06
Collective Selection Plant,MRP controller,
Production group, Vendor,
Restrict Selection:
Date, exception group, processing indicator and Material data.
Thanks
Muhammad Ashfaq
