BI Object Type

Hi All

I am trying to run a BI Report from CRM Web UI.

When I click on the report link ( Report configured in CRM as BI Object type: Template 7.x ), I am getting a SAP Netweaver window asking me for User id and password. After entering it, I am getting a message authentication failed.

When I click on the same report link ( Now report configured in CRM as BI Object type: Template 3.x ), I am getting a different small window with system details asking for my user id and password. After entering it, I am getting message ' Error loading template....) This means to me BI sytem is atleast reached.

Why I am getting a different message for Template 3.x and a different message for Template 7.x

How does this effects access to BI system.

Note: the template is created in Web 7.0 designer

FYI, I have access/ User id and password to BI Dev. server as a user.

Please answere ASAP

    Hi,

The queries created in BI 7.0 can not be opened in BI 3.x designers. But I am surprised that why you are getting authentication failed message?

Try to open the queries directly in BI server and check if you can execute them.

      Hi,

It is not the case like 3.5 templates will not be there in future, but just like the other products it is the strategy that older products gets obsolute as time passes and you will have to take extended support after the normal support finishes.

So your team might be referring that, and for converting 3.5 templates I guess the procedure might be same as that of query. if you open the 3.5 template in 7.0 it will get automatically converted to 7.0 form but later on you will not be able to open the same templated in 3.5 designer.

So you can either migrate the current report or you can create a new one.

      Regards,

      Durgesh.
