Hi Basis experts,

i have done system copy with option offline backup/restore.

system was installed successfully and stuck at the last phase i.e system was asking for DDIC password and after wrong try it has been locked, i tried with sap* with default password "PASS" but it was not successfull.

from SQL login it tried to locate sap* user on 000 client in table USR02, but it is not there. I inserted a parameter "login/no_automatic_user_sapstart = 0" in default profile and restarted the server but sap* user not created ()verified through table usr02)

i not able to start system by startsap, it has the following error:

biqadm> startsap

Hello,

these are two different problems, we have locked DDIC (first) and we cannot start the system via sidadm (second).

First logon as sidadm and run R3trans -x. This will create file trans.log in the current directory with some more details. Please post the error, then we see further.

You also should check then environment variables of sidadm, do they all point to the right SID and path?

regards

Christian

Hello,

startsap tries to logon with user <sid>adm with os authentication to get the password of the schema user to connect the SAP workprocesses. It seems as if your user <sidadm> is not allowed to connect to the database with OS authentication. You can verify this by running

sqlplus / as sysdba

as <sid>adm, i think this will fail. In this case you have to create user ops$<sid>adm in your database with 'identified externally', create table <sid>adm.sapuser and use brconnect to set the new password for your schema user.

Good luck, and please tell me if it works (or not).

Hi Birendra,

Check the authorizations of your oracle binary

$ORACLE_HOME/bin/oracle

More info on the note 583861

Also check the permissions for files in bin directory. It must be 6751.

Hello,

so would you please check if table ops$SAPECP.sapuser exists?

Please also check if the Oracle listener is started, enter as ora<sid>

lsnrctl status

Thanks

Christian
