Hi friends,
I have a webi report which should go through Email on region wise data for users in Excel format.
In that WEBI report we have reagion wise data like East, West, North & South.
We have also user list from these different regions.
When report send through email in Excel format then only particular region data should be send to that region users only.
Means East region users should displayed only East region data.
The report is schedule on daily basis.
Kindly let me know how can implement this security.

Hello Ravi Sharman,
First you need create a
WEBI report whcih result like this
Field1 Field2 Field3 Field4
(1) Person1 West email1
(2) Person2 east email2
(3) Person3 North email3
(4) Person4 South email4
Now follow the below in publication
Now use this report as a source for dynamic receipients ,
then in personalisation in local profiles ,select the same above report
and in Report field - use column REGION from main report in and in dynamic receipient mapping use above FIELD3
Hope this may help.
Regards,
Kamal

Try to create a profile, profiles are created on CMC and allow to restrict data according to certain users or groups if you want show only region 1 for users of region 1 you can use this. This work for scheduled reports only so i believe that his could help you.

Hi Oscar,
Thanks for your Inputs
User will not login into Infoview.
He will see report in the excel file through email.
I think Profile will not work in this case because we will have to send report to users with restricted data via Email
Any alternate way to restrict data. whether is it possible in deski or webi ??
Regards,
Ravi
Hi Amit,
Thanks for your Inputs..
Users are not created in the Infoview.
We have only Email IDs.
We want to send report to 129 = Clusters, 24 Circles, 12 Hub and 4 Regions.
There are many users in Region, Hub, Circle and Cluster. The issue is Region user should display all Hub, Circle & Cluster partaining to its Region.
HUB users should not see Region wise data but should able to see Hub, Circle & Cluster data partaining to its HUB.
Circle users should not see Region and HUB wise data but should able to see Circle & Cluster data partaining to its Circle.
Cluster users should not see Region ,HUB and Circle wise data but should able to see only Cluster data partaining to its Cluster.
Regards,
Ravi.
In BO XI3.1, we have report busting to achieve this goal. in XIR2, i guess you need to implement row level security in universe and schedule the report with different user ids.
