canditate students

Hello,

In our ımplementation, we want to seperate "candidate students" from "registrated certain students" and create student master data only for student who registered for education, not all applied to.

some students who applied to university for education, may not register as a student at the end of processes, because of "being not equivelant/enough qualified" or "they can choose another university".

I searched SLCM to find a way, to prevent creating student master data these candidate till they register as a certain student but I think in SLCM there is no such an option.

If this is possible, can somebody enlight me?

or, what kind of process or procedure can I follow to handle these candidation process without creating useless student master data?

thanks, and b.r.

Dear Nurullahpiristine ,

Please take a look at the Admission functionality that might can cover your needs. The admission functionality works along with the generic ISR/notification framework and with the audit (admission audit) functionality.

More information can be found in the following cookbook: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/bpx/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/0003171c-4bfe-2a10-769c-d755653d1...

Hope this helps.

Hi Rob,

I checked the document out, thank you.

The applications in the document are very usefull, if the unversity accept/admitt student's qualification and the student decided to study in our university, so, seem still requires a student master data records.

There is need for managing this process without creating any student master records in PIQSTC or PIQST00, unless the universty decides "student has the required qualification" and the student says that "yes, this is my final decision and I will study at this university"

I wonder, if there is another standard master data type(s) which can cover(s) this situation.

Thanks,

B.R.

If tell more about this;

in Turkey, there are different ways of enrolling a student to university, and all is actively used.

1...student has an cross-country exam and placed to study to the universty by officially authorized central organization. in this way, universty must accept the student unless the student changes his/her mind.

2...student applies to university and has an qualification exam. universty appraise the result of the exam and decide to accept student. student still has right to change his/her mind and enrolling another university.

3...student applies to universty with a transcript or sometimes just applies, fisrt universty look for equivalency of the student's qualifications, if the result is positive and the student still wants to study at university he/she can enroll.

thanks.

Dear Nurullahpiristine,

Thanks for sharing this with us! Please take a closer look at the ISR functionality, I think that will cover the most of your requirements (extra ISR info cookbook: http://www.scribd.com/doc/51069151/ISR-Cookbook-EN)

You have to check with the customer and their admission processes what the steps are to conduct an admission, if there is a need to check on requirements the admission and admission audit is a vital tool to be used; Plus you can always decline or withdraw students ( actually it are applicants! And even before their admission they are just 'persons' in the SLcM system without any status to a program of study ) from an admission. Important to know is that having the applicant in the system you can use the data for the admission process and as well as for reporting.

What are the number of students who will annually apply for a program of study? if these numbers are not too high and you have set-up the web application in such a way that admission is not made too easy ( e.g. as a first step they have to provide so,e personel info to require logon data ) you can easily create a master data record. The admission process will then give you control over the number of students who will actually really be admitted (registered).

Once you get too much admission records you have the opportunity to archive them(study data & BP data).

Hope this helps

Hello Nurullahpiristine,

Thanks for explaining the process in details. As far as I understood from your scenario, you might want to create a student with his Name, contact information and his previous transcript information. This is bare minimum information that needs to be mainitained in the system for admission audit & communication.

Now, what exactly are you referring to master data of the student ? is it something apart from the infromation that i have menioned above ?

Is my understanding on the scenario correct ?

Kindly let me know, we would be glad to help you to solve your issue.
