SBO Mailer Problem

I am currently having a problem with the SBO Mailer service. We are running SAP B1 2004 PL 7 on a windows 2003 server. We are using a MS Sql 2000 DB. The problem is as follows: If I email a text message the mailer service opens a connection on port 25 and sends the email. If I have an attachment (report or picture) the mailer service opens a connection on port 25 and then terminates the connection before if actually sends the email. My outbox within SAP B1 shows the message as delivered but it is never actually sent. I have modified all of the mailer service settings and restarted the service after each modification. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

We solved this by making sure that the service manager on the same server as the SAP application. we also set up a shared folder on the SAP server and pointed the attachments path to it in SAP. This fixed my mailer problem.

Yes Bruce we can send to external users. Make sure that you are using the ip address of the smtp server that you are using in the sbo mailer settings.

Bruce,

I have tested the delivery of the SBO Mailer both to our internal domain and external domains including yahoo.com and hotmail.com. I did this to make sure that our perimeter email device was not blocking the messages as relay or spam. Our only problem appears to be with attachments. I have a service request in with SAP and when I hear something I will post back.

Hi Aaron,

In my case, i manage to send text messages and attachments. But the thing is, i can only send it within our own email domain server. (eg. bruce@mydomain.com to john@mydomain.com ). I've try to send it to yahoo or hotmail, my "Sent Messages" within SAP B1 shows me that the message is delivered but it is never actually sent, just like what u said.

Any idea??

Bruce.
