Is Crystal Fixpack_03 still needed for 8.81 PL07

Under 8.8 we needed to install Crystal and then Fixpack_03 to make it work correctly. This was documented in the administrators guide.

The version of Crystal on the CD was 12.1.0.883 and then after installing Fixpack_03 we ended up with 12.1.3.1028.

This was from CD image 51038978 and other older images as well.

For 8.81 do we still need to install Fixpack_03 for Crystal or is that functionality now built into B1.

I notice that the version of Crystal in the CD that comes with 8.81 is still 12.1.0.883 but there is no fixpack package anywhere to be found and the administrators guide does not mention it.

The CD image is 51040606.

I assume that Fixpack_03 is now not required due to improvements in the 8.81 integration.

If Fixpack_03 is no longer required, should we uninstall that version when upgrading from 8.8 to 8.81 to take Crystal back to 12.1.0.883?

Thanks in advance

Rob

    Hi Rob,

To be safe, do not uninstall that version with fix. Unless it is not working, you can try the version without Fixpak.

    Thanks,

    Gordon

I tested this on a new installation and it seems to work OK without Fixpack 3.
