Too long file name - Urgent

Former Member

Hi

After a Migration from EP5 to EP6 using Migration tools, I followed the migration reports that told me to copy all the content from one folder to another folder (fsdb type).

The thing is that a few documents have file names that are to long and I can´t pass then from one folder to another.

How can I resolve this?

Best Regards

Lai

Hi Lai,

the length of the whole path to a document (RID) only can be 600 letters. If you copy a document to a folder which is deeper in your structure, this RID can be to long.

Hi Lai,

in database all fields where RIDs are saved have size of 600 character.

You can copy files with long names. Only the RID cannot be longer then 600 characters.
