How to change TLN

Former Member

Hi,

I my TLN i see the tabs for the roles that are assigned to me e.g. Collaboration Admin, Content Admin, System Admin, Home, MyTestRole etc.

The problem is everytime i log into the portal the Collaboration Admin page comes up. I want to change this to MyTestRole, so that when i log into the portal the contents of MyTestRole are displayed instead of me navigating from Collaboration Admin to MyTestRole.

Anybody has any idea on achieving the same??

Thanks.

Hi Detlev,

Thanks for the information. But this is not what i am looking for. By setting the priority i can change the order of the Worksets/Roles within a Role.

But what i am looking for is changing the order of the Roles that appear in the TLN. The TLN iView has the following file toplevelnavigationJS.jsp and then the rendering is done via toplevelnavigation.js. As this rendering is done runtime there is no way i can assign priority to roles. Only thing that i can do is (if i know which role to navigate to) EPCM.doNavigate("navigate to the desired role") while loading the TLN.

I personally beleive that this should be an end user personalization e.g. i would like to see "System admin" when i logon, whereas other colleague would like to see "Content Admin" when he logs into the portal.

I doubt if this is possible???

Hi Akhilesh,

Three answers:

1.) Yes, by this you can change the order of the Worksets/Roles within a Role.

2.) That also would be enough if you follow the SAP concept never to have a top role as entry point, please compare the picture given in the link for "Defining the Sort Sequence of the Entry Points".

3.) Anyhow, in fact it also works for top roles used as entry points. Just tested (I was quite sure about this, but was unsure when you stated very strict that it would not work).

Yes, I know, and I gave you the solution.

This I don't understand. Anyhow, it's wrong. The JSP part delivers the navigation tree to the client, including sort order. The only thing you have to care about is that when you set the sort prio, after saving, you have to refresh the whole page (by IE refresh button) to make it work immediately.

> Only thing that i can do is EPCM.doNavigate

This would be a workaround, especially if you want to start with a role / entry point, which is not the first. If you can live with "always enter first entry point", it's done by setting the sort prio.

Yes, maybe that would be nice, but it isn't at the moment.

Hope it helps

Detlev

PS: Everything said and tested holds for EP6 SP2. But it should at least also hold for NW04, about EP5 I cannot say too much, it's too long ago...

Hi Detlev,

Thanks for solving the problem. Setting the Priority even for TLN roles work.

Thanks, Akhilesh
