Hello All,

I am getting the error message " Storage bin [WH no, Storage type] does not exist Check your entry" during transfer posting in MB1B from one storage location to another for ex 0007 to 0001. But i can able to do transfer posting from 0001 to 0007 without any error.

Please provide your solutions/suggestions

Thanks

Benny

Hi,

" Storage bin WH no, Storage type does not exist Check your entry"

EX: Storage bin W01 921 does not exist (check your entry) "

If you have a test system, try creating the bin "W01" in storage type 921 - that should fix it.

Thanks,

Anitha A

Hi,

Please check. The storage location 0007 must be warehouse managed. In case the storage location is warehouse managed the material can not be placed in the storage with just MB1B. The transfer posting document will create the Transfer requirement and transfer order in the system. once the transfer order is confirmed then only the material can be putaway at the Storage bin.

inventory managment is linked to warehouse managment in table T320

Are both storage locations linked to WM? to the same WM or different WMs?

In any case you have to check table LAGP if the bin exists for the plant and storage type combination given in the message.

you create the storage bins with LS01N.

Check WM stock in LS26 and find out the storage type.

Check whether storage type search setting are ok

Check in LS03N for your source storage type whether storage bin is created.

Check in LX20 for the warehouse attached to 0007 whether interim stoarage bin is created 921-TRANSFER

Use tcode LS10 or LS01N to create storage bin and use LX20 for interim bin

Hi Karthik,

All the check/settings you had mentioned is available in system.

Hi Jurgen - Both the storage locations are Warehouse managed with same WM.

Thanks

Can you please provide the Message details like Msg no and other details in the message??

I wonder why this message comes in MB1B, as bin determination is usually done in WM module.

I can only think that you either enter the bin already in the movement, or that your material is defined for fix bin strategy, which means the storage location is to be entered in WM2 view of material master.

As you did not post the original message, it is not known whether you see a bin number in the message or not.

If no bin number is mentioned in the message, then you probably missed to enter the fix bin your material master. And the message tells you that the blank bin does not exist.

Message no is L9009 , i already verified some SDN thread posted on the same issue , and in that they have given some notes to refer, but all notes are not for ECC 6 version.

Thanks in advance

the message has 3 variables:

Storage bin & & & does not exist (check your entry)

which is warehouse, storage type and storage bin.

Do you see a value for all three, or do you only see warehouse and storage type ?

Hi

Check the SAP notes 9774, 388909,313905 & 352695.

Check IMG>LE>WM>Interface>Define Movement types >Assign WM with ref Make sure you have Linkage 311 & 312 & 309

Check IMG>LE>WM>Activities>Define mvt type for 311 - Des 921 - TRANSFER, 312 - Src 921 - TRANSFER, 309 Src & Des 922 TR-ZONE.

Check in LX20 whether TEANSFER and TR ZONE is available for warehouse.

Here is the error message "Storage bin 56A 870 does not exist (check your entry)"

I can only see 2 values instead of the expected 3.

what is 56A ? is it bin, warehouse or storage type?

what is 870 ? is it bin, warehouse or storage type?

one variable that is need to have a hit in table LAGP is missing, hence you get this error.

you have to find out why this variable is missing.

But there is a wide area to look. Hence you should first answer the questions, as this would limit the options where to look.

Hi Jurgen,

56A is WH and 870 is storage type.

Check in LS03N for your Warehouse & storage type you have created any bin by pressing F4.

If yes then check whether you have any assignment with storage section or storage bin type.

Then go to Material Master WM views to check whether you have maintained any stock removal indicators, WM view 2 at storage type level you have any fixed bin

Hi Karthik,

The notes are all till 4.6 version , ours is ECC6.

Movement types 309, 311 and 312 all have the setup you mentioned.

All the bins exist in LX20 for the warehouse.

Any idea in Define storage location control node, whether the receiving storage location 0001 should be maintained against the WH/Storage Type/Plant/Sloc/Movement type 311 ?

Thanks

Can you check with SE16 at table MLGT if there is a record for your material with the given warehouse and storage type

Former Member

Yes i checked in MLGT table and found one entry for the material/warehouse no and storage type. In that the storage bin is blank, could that be the problem?

Thanks

Sorry Jurgen i didnt check that

Now what next should be done ? but one more think i am also seeing one bin created with no stock and three Dynamic bins bearing the Quant number for three other materials in LX03 for the warehouse 56A and storage type 870.

Thanks

Now go into IMG > LE > WM > Masterdata > define storage type

check what putaway and picking strategy is defined, for this warehouse / storage type combination.

I guess it is a F which means fixed bin strategy.

if it is a F, then you have to have a bin in WM2 view.

Hi Jürgen ,

Thanks for the reply.

I have only the Putaway strategy as "Q" - Dynamic coordinate quant number and No Stock removal strategy for the WH and storage type combination.
