SAP workflow integration with MS outlook. lotus notes

Dear SAP WF guru's,

I am a SAP workflow developer working on ECC 6.0 environment, i need your assistance in one requirement which is as follows:

Requirement: I have a workflow in R/3 which currently create the workitem in SAP inbox only, now our user wants the ability to approve/reject the workitems from their MS outlook / lotus notes. i have not much idea about the configurations and needful things for the requirement.

i have the following questions:

1. is it feasible to implement such requirement?

2. Could you please tell me the nessaray configurations required in SAP R/3 to implement the requirement?

3. please let me know the settings which i need to do in Ms outlook/ lotus notes. i am not a developer of Outlook/lotusnote applications but can ask the other developer team (outlook/ lnotes) to make changes.

please let me know the steps which we have to follow to make the requirement working.
